Angele Lapp turns “Downtown Stories” into a confident first step toward a wider pop future

With the global release of “Downtown Stories,” Angele Lapp steps forward with the confidence of an artist ready to be heard. The 18 year old Filipino pop singer from Carcar, Cebu makes her debut through Popolo Music Group with a five track EP that runs 17 minutes and 27 seconds. Across that compact span, she blends contemporary pop, urban polish, soulful vocals, and personal writing into a project that feels intimate, assured, and built for a wider stage.

“Downtown Stories” lives up to its name. It plays like a set of emotional snapshots, moving through confidence, vulnerability, heartbreak, and self discovery with a clear sense of purpose. Each track feels like a chapter in Angele’s early story, yet the feelings are broad enough to reach listeners far beyond her own experience.

The EP opens with “Downtown Girl,” a bright and infectious introduction driven by sleek production, sharp hooks, and plenty of personality. It immediately puts Angele’s vocal tone at the center. Her delivery carries youthful energy, but there is also a calm control in the way she shapes each line. That balance gives the song more weight than a simple pop opener.

The momentum continues with “Sexy I’m Sexy,” a pulsing pop anthem full of confidence, sensuality, and self assurance. Angele sounds playful and direct here, leaning into crisp vocals and polished production without losing her own presence. The track has the attitude of a modern pop single, but it also shows her instinct for melody and phrasing.

The project’s emotional core comes through on “She Likes to Make Boys Cry.” It is heavier, more dramatic, and more rooted in storytelling. Angele’s vocals carry the tension of complicated relationships, capturing the back and forth between control, hurt, and desire. The song stays with you because it has texture. It gives listeners something to return to beyond the hook.

On “Toxic Boyfriend,” gentle guitar opens the track before bass touched rhythms begin to rise beneath her clear, crystalline voice. The song turns the messiness of toxic love into something direct and memorable, anchored by a hook that is easy to sing along with. It stands out as one of the EP’s most immediate moments, both emotionally open and melodically strong.

The closing track, “Unshakable,” sends the project out on a note of resilience. It is an anthem of inner strength, confidence, and refusal to be shaken. Angele’s delivery feels commanding, while the production lifts the song without overcrowding it. As a finale, it gives the EP a sense of direction. It leaves the listener with the feeling that this is the start of a larger artistic path.

Inspired by real experiences, personal growth, and the emotional highs and lows that shape identity, “Downtown Stories” is ultimately about taking ownership of your story. It embraces imperfection, vulnerability, and the power that comes from telling the truth about where you have been. The EP is polished enough for radio, personal enough for late night listening, and open enough to travel across borders.

“This project wasn’t easy,” Angele shared following its release. “It came with pressure, expectations, and moments where I had to push myself beyond what I thought I could handle. But that’s what growth looks like. Now that it’s yours, I just want you to know, this is only the beginning. I’m more motivated than ever to give you the absolute best of me: more music, more honesty, and more moments we can share together.”

Backed by Popolo Music Group and working under the executive direction of Paul Pooh Lunt, Angele Lapp is quickly emerging as a compelling new voice in contemporary global pop. With “Downtown Stories,” she has introduced herself with clarity and conviction, laying the groundwork for a career shaped by authenticity, artistry, and fearless self expression.

And if this debut tells us anything, Angele Lapp’s story is still at the opening page.
