Stockton based hip hop artist BigWhoaaa drops some fiery verses on “Tricky.”

BigWhoaaa is a 25-year-old emcee based out of Stockton, California, who comes through with a flow and cadence that defy his age. He grew up in the streets where it was kill or be killed, survival of the fittest, and he had to learn to adapt fast or risk getting run out on. His being here as a rapidly rising entertainer is proof that he kept up and is now delivering street wisdom over beats of his own choosing as he goes on to carve out his own indelible niche in the rap music industry.

“Tricky” is a single off of his album, “Tha only Whoaaa” which dropped on February 28th, 2023. Tell you what, there is something about those sick beats that take me back to the first ever Migos’ song that I listened to, “Fight Night!”

The bouncing synths, glaring hi-hats,  colorful 808s, thumping basslines, and punchy drums engineer something futuristic that makes you want to play the track all night long. Then the way BigWhoaaa pulls up, moonwalking over the beats smoothly like a clever criminal, is something to behold.

The strong bars, smart flows, and ingenious cadence are why this is a timeless banger that is radio-friendly and has Top 40 potential written all over it. BigWhoaaa’s first-class lyricism is not one you can doubt; he knows his craft, and like a vicious predator, he knows when to attack with his sharp-witted, knife-blade lyricism.

“Tricky” echoes the resilient spirit of growing up in the hood, where you either keep up or risk being left behind. This tune reflects BigWhoaaa’s own life, where his family expected him to provide, and he also expected much from him with very limited options, but he had to do it anyway…this is the real soul anthem of a true hustler!

I feel a tune of this magnitude and lyrical performance deserves more flowers than it is getting, and that is why I am recommending it to you, and I know you will feel the vibes and dig it 100%.
