Canning is a phenomenally gifted 3-piece rock band that doesn’t like to ponder whether or not their songs will be accepted in today’s music market; as soon as they get into the sound, they spring to their feet, pulling inspiration from whatever surfaces to engineer that raw organic rock music that is missing in today’s market. The eclectic influences and vast differences in the musical backgrounds of its members have led to the creation of a group whose style is distinct, yet genre defiant!
A band that prides itself on its versatility and wide range, the track “Shortline” is a demonstration of the boundless creativity of Canning who have been able to develop a distinct sound within the tradition of first-class edgy rock music.
For all its many likable features, the raw intensity of those guitar riffs is my favorite bit…have you ever listened to a track that just revives your soul? Well, “Shortline” does exactly that—the blend of those arena-sized guitar riffs, the self-assured vocals, drums, and bass is enough to slip you into that heavenly feeling and ground you there for those precious 3 minutes.
Through the fierce determination of the lead and backing vocalists, the menacing rage of the guitarist, and the brutal willpower of the drummer, we witness Canning’s passion…it is no surprise that they have gained a reputation with their live shows and ability to connect with their audiences on multiple levels.
That in-your-face attitude over the glaring rock melodies flanked by the stylistic caliber of the blues is why “Shortline” has to find the shortest route possible into your playlist if you truly brag of having impeccable music taste.
It is quite refreshing to see every member of the trio perform their pieces, highlighting that each member is only as good as their team. “Shortline” has that pizzazz and style that adds to the catchiness of the tune!
With that said, it’s now time to meet your new favorite rock anthem; enjoy!
