When it comes to matters of the heart, Afro-pop songstress Carmolina isn’t really content with “Living In The Dark”

Well, yes. Her artistry is as unique as her name. Carmolina is an enigmatic enchantress who has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the ever-evolving pop, R&B, and Afrobeats landscape. In her element, she easily fits in pop and R&B as she does in hip-hop and afrobeats as well as dancehall. This is to say that she is not the kind of artist you can box, and yet she ticks all the boxes. Born in America and raised in Europe, her artistry is a sum total of all the places, people, and cultures she has interacted with. This goes to further accentuate the unpredictability involved in her artistry. She is someone who can switch in any direction so long as her imagination allows. Knowing even as little as this about her, what’s there not to like about such a musical lass as Carmolina?

The air is thick and fresh with the pleasant aroma of Carmolina’s newest release, “Living In The Dark,” a song that has lived with her since she was 4 and which she decided to reimagine in her own artistic likeness and authenticity without losing its core emotional touch.

The song was originally written by her mom and her close friend, who is now deceased. Carmolina took what was originally there and used her creative vision as a springboard to reach new exciting grounds with contemporary appeal.

An afrobeats laden with discernable pop and R&B influences, “Living In The Dark” underscores Carmolina’s genre-bending creativity as well as her richly soulful, sultry, and luminous vocals that glare out of the crystal clear and polished production with imaginably vivid beauty.

A masterpiece that perhaps touches on the divinity of love and the need for honesty and frankness when dealing with someone you share a romantic bond with, “Living In The Dark” fits in any corner of the room thanks to its livable and emphatic lyrics with its emotional depth accentuated by that memorably catchy hook.

“Living In The Dark” is a song you can easily dance to and sing along to. Given the circumstances surrounding your life, which I’m guessing aren’t as ideal as you’d like them to, you’d need something to take your mind off the chaos, even if for just three minutes. If so, I highly consider listening to this sonic gem and watching as the sorrows fade away!
