Up-and-coming dancehall artist Dehema showcases his lyrical worth in the banger “Traper,” off of his “Y.R.P.” EP.

Dehema is the name of the versatile dancehall star hailing from Clarendon, Jamaica, who is generating buzz with his thrilling style of music that, although dancehall-inspired, is not really limited, pulling inspiration from other styles such as hip-hop for that grand effect. He has what you’d call a commanding stage presence, and there is that star glow in him that comes off effortlessly in his performances. In a field that has produced superstars such as Valiant, Dehema is next in line to dazzle on that frontline.

His debut EP, “Y.R.P,” which was released in February 2023, introduced a dancehall singer and rapper who isn’t afraid to test his artistic depth in order to deliver some timeless hits. This EP, featuring the standout track “Tarper” produced by the talented Dj Wanted Music P50 & PipGad Music P50, is a huge demonstration of his versatility and artistic range.

The track “Tarper” off of this 5-track collection is a seamless blend of dancehall and hip hop that sees Dehema skillfully combining infectious rhythms with his dynamic lyrical flow. He is swift and direct, with his distinct vocals injecting life into the melodies, backed by the exceptional production from Dj Wanted Music P50 & PipGad Music P50.

With some thought-provoking bars backed by first-class rapping, this track lures in the listener from the get-go and cements your attention until the very last second.

A track like this is a demonstration of Dehema’s boundless creativity as a dancehall singer and performer and really highlights his storytelling virtuosity. This is the kind of banger that remains in your head for the rest of the day.

The official music video for “Traper” is in the works and is expected to drop soon. From what I’ve gathered, it is promising to be a visual stunner—the more reason to be excited and look forward to it!

Dehema is just at the inception of what he hopes will be a trailblazing and burgeoning career that will earn him international acclaim. From the way he has gotten off, his rise to stardom is inevitable!
