DeHusslar Music Ignites the Scene with “Nga Mihi” a Raw Thank You from the Heart of Prez@Minez

If there’s one thing the electronic scene thrives on, it’s raw, unfiltered energy. And DeHusslar Music, a fresh name in the game, is serving it by the truckload. Based out of New Zealand, this self-taught producer is anything but typical. He didn’t graduate from a fancy music school or grow up in a studio. Instead, he learned the ropes from the pit, surrounded by lasers, bass drops, and sweat-soaked festival crowds. He’s one of us. A dedicated raver-turned-creator who decided, “Hey, I get this, now I’m going to make it.”

His debut EP, Prez@Minez, is the product of that journey, and leading the charge is the explosive first single, “Nga Mihi,” a bold instrumental that shouts “thank you” (quite literally that’s what Nga Mihi means in te reo Māori). It’s a word packed with meaning, and in this context, it feels like a heartfelt message to every festival crowd that shaped DeHusslar’s vision. No vocals. No lyrics. Just pure, throbbing emotion funneled through synths, wubs, and drops.

From the moment “Nga Mihi” kicks off, you’re tossed into a sonic vortex. The track opens with eerie atmospheric pads, almost like the quiet moment before a storm hits. Then — boom — the build-up drops you straight into a bass-heavy groove that bounces between trap rhythms, dubstep growls, and hints of drum and bass flair. It’s a chaotic cocktail, but it never spirals out of control. Instead, it pulses like a heartbeat steady, primal, and deeply hypnotic.

What makes it stand out isn’t just the genre blend (though that’s fire); it’s the intention behind it. You can tell this isn’t some generic SoundCloud banger trying to go viral. “Nga Mihi” feels personal. It’s a tribute to the scene, to the people who lose themselves in the music at 3 a.m. under strobe lights and open skies. It’s a message from an artist who’s been in that crowd, who was that crowd, and is now up on the other side of the decks returning the love.

There are subtle textures layered beneath the madness too. Listen closely, and you’ll pick up ambient echoes and spatial effects that give the song unexpected depth. It’s like you’re standing at the edge of a massive festival stage, hearing the world bend around you. For an instrumental, “Nga Mihi” says a lot without saying a word. That’s not easy to pull off, especially for someone who only started dropping tracks last year.

And let’s not ignore the EP and album rollout. Prez@Minez sets the tone for what’s to come, and if “Nga Mihi” is the introduction, then we’re strapping in for a ride. The upcoming album Watermelon and Dick (yes, you read that right)  promises to dive even deeper into DeHusslar’s weird, wild world. With a title like that, you already know he’s not playing it safe.

So, if you’re into trap, EDM, dubstep, or DnB or just hungry for something fresh that doesn’t sound like it came out of a plug-in preset pack give “Nga Mihi” a spin. Blast it in your headphones. Add it to your late-night drive playlist. Throw it on right before the rave kicks off. Stream “Nga Mihi” now and feel what it means to say thank you with bass.
