Top-rated Cuban songwriter Doolie Banks is set to mark his musical comeback with the release of a new jam “Somebody”

Any artist will tell you that there is no day in their journey that they ever felt they were there yet, at least not completely. Just like anything else in life, being a complete artist is always a work in progress, and this is true for established icons as well as upcoming artists. For one Cuban songwriter, Doolie Banks, hailing from Miami, Florida, his musical startup was marked by swift and deserved fanfare as music enthusiasts fell in love with his craft and in their massive numbers. It is the reason why, even after taking a 2-year hiatus, his Spotify channel still has over 1,400monthly listeners whom I presume have been waiting for a sign. Well, the sign is here as Doolie is back and not empty handed—his new single titled “Somebody” encapsulates why he needed this break to not only work on himself as a person, but also on his artistic identity, integrity, and authenticity!

Everybody needs somebody to hold them when they are alone and to love them for who they are. Now that we agree on that, Doolie Banks sings it to our hearts in a captivating way, taking inspiration from the globally acclaimed Afrobeat, captivating a listener way beyond the five senses with his precise beat selections and memorably infectious lyrics and hooks.

“Somebody” is laden with catchy and unforgettable lyrics over a delectable concoction of the Nigerian-inspired style and obvious stylistic flair of dance. The end result is something that will automatically appeal to your musical soul, being that it also loves something that makes it cheery.

As an artist, Doolie is someone who prides himself on striking the perfect balance of staying ahead of the pack while drawing from an authentic wellspring, and fusing these two dichotomies to create nothing short of musical greatness.

I am optimistic that this new Doolie we are getting is even going to meet and surpass higher expectations and remind the music world why they fell in love with him in the first place.

I can tell you one thing for sure; the world is not ready for the burst of creativity that’s about to hit them as Doolie prepares to flood the music scene with a series of catchy, infectious, and seemingly timeless releases like this new anthem.

“Somebody” is the perfect comeback, and I have no doubt that it will go on to do very well.

Follow Doolie Banks on Instagram @dooliebanks and watch him do his magic now that he’s back.
