Mexican singer-songwriter Erik Petriccioli showcases intriguing musicianship with his latest EP “Seasons”

A total of 4 tracks, “Seasons” is one of those projects that you just want to listen to over and over again. The songs have replay value, are catchy, infectious, and memorable, with some awe-inspiring guitar virtuosity surrendered, backed by Mexican musician Erik Petriccioli’s unmistakable, crystal clear, and expressive voice. Each song here represents a season, and Erik makes sure to get to the heart of each and every tune with some emotive lyrics that are as personal as they are engaging.

Take, for example, the track “Hit The Road,” it is a catchy and infectious masterpiece with an exciting blend of driving riffs and solos, setting a delightful backdrop for Erik’s scene-stealing vocals as his purposeful lyrics give an ode to his old band “Sueno Eterno,” reminiscing about the good music they made together, as much as the memories they shared.

“Seasons” is a personal-fueled tour de force that deeply conveys a certain gloomy and tumultuous stage in Erik’s life. His words are raw and honest, his delivery that has an undeniable pop demeanor, vividly painting this dark period over the guitar-laden instrumentation that allows for the lyrics and his emotive vocals to thrive. “Donde” is the type of jam you listen to on your feet as you move with joyful abandon to its rhythmic sensation. It is a memorable, feel-good anthem that has all the hallmarks of being the life of the party once it starts playing—getting everyone on their feet as they dance like no one’s watching and singing along to the unforgettable lyrics like no one’s listening.

The last jam, “Love Street” is a rendition of a classic by rock band The Doors. This jam sees Erik recapture the irreplaceable essence of this nostalgic masterpiece and celebrate the re-emergence of his enchanting rendition with a crisp and contemporary setup and a striking delivery that stylishly bridges the gap between eras. He is respectful of the original and still manages to imprint his creative flair on the track, making it a dynamic and accessible masterpiece that interestingly has the making of a holiday carol.
