Award-winning musician Harry Edgar Palacio’s “no brain” has an understated poignancy that feels so good to get lost in

A multitalented award-winning musician, author, and trailblazer in his own right, Harry Edgar Palacio defies everything ordinary and expected. Having read about him, I have a feeling that he detests the typical and the mediocre, a feeling that maybe has or has not contributed to him being one of the most well-read people globally with a record 4,688 books to his name. When he is not in the studio constructing soundtracks for generations, you best believe he is somewhere soaked deeply in his 4,689th book as he continues expanding his knowledge and understanding of things. And you know what they say: knowledge is power…I bet Palacio is already feeling powerful enough as it is!

Back to the music, I have just listened to one of his popularly acclaimed singles dubbed “no brain” and it really left a lasting impression. I mean, the track has been laden with rich melodies, haunting lyrics, and such a dexterous vocal execution that leaves a listener emotionally gratified and gravitating for more.

A guitar-laden alternative sonic tour de force, “no brain” starts calmly and smoothly, enveloping a listener like a warm embrace as the mellifluent guitar melodies provide an attractive complement to the ear-worming vocals of Palacio.

As the song progresses, it does not really lose its mellow touch, but you can feel it get more intense, both in melody and emotions. There is a hauntingly melancholic feel about it that a listener can feel, which makes them want to listen to it more. You know, like how those sad songs always have this inexpressibly beautiful hold over someone!

Palacio’s rich vocal harmonies, the deep lyrics, and the skillful execution are why “no brain” hits all the right notes and gives a listener space to really reconcile with their own sad feelings, becoming one and the same with the music.

To simply put it, “no brain” is so much an experience as opposed to a song, and that is what makes it a bona fide standout that you cannot deny.
