Scottish singer-songwriter Luchi pours himself out in his new emotional single, “Things He Handed Down”

Music has always been Luchi’s first love. Whenever the world around him stopped making sense, he consistently sought solace and sanctuary in music. He actually started using music as a form of creative expression as early as 13, when he started writing his own songs. Fast forward to the year 2017, the year he released his debut single “Don’t Look Back”- a single that went on to receive widespread critical acclaim and charted at #9 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts. Since then, he has been honing his skills and cadence to create unique and equally accessible music.

He is now pouring more of himself into music, tapping into his vulnerabilities to create music with profound emotional resonance and that is exactly what he does with his new single, “Things Handed Down,” which is now streaming on popular channels.

For most of us, we have been living with pain, anger, and mental anguish owing to how we grew up: neglected, abused, and hurt by those who were supposed to protect and guide us: our parents, guardians, and even our brothers and sisters!

And when you really look at it, it is like this has been an endless cycle of hurt and pain, passed on from generation to generation. “Things Handed Down” is an affirmation of the end of this vicious cycle…it breaks with you.

Featuring a thoughtfully hit piano that lays the groundwork, this melodic composition immediately hits the right spot. Luchi then seamlessly navigates the melodies with his raw, emotional voice, which is captivatingly golden and expressively raw.

With a stripped-back build, the track unfolds gradually, leading to the chorus and bridge, increasing in volume and cadence as Luchi sings from his heart and soul with a voice that carries the appropriate emotions intended for this particular song.

The backing female vocalist also adds sonic warmth and depth to the song, which serves to elevate it to new heights.

This is such a top-drawer performance that is emotional and deeply relatable, with the introspective lyrics resonating with those going through similar emotional turmoil, making them feel less alone.
