New Zealand-based band Mighty South return with an absolute ear candy dubbed “Jessie”

Emerging from the beautiful and picturesque South Island in New Zealand, Mighty South are a pop/rock quartet hell-bent on creating music that is lyrically rich, highly relatable, and truly moving. Blending their individual qualities that blend seamlessly to exude that star glow and success that defines the band, Mighty South seeks to use their songs to bring healing, happiness, and joy to listeners wherever they may be. Music is a powerful tool that brings people together, and they seek to harness that power to transcend all manner of barriers and bring people closer together with their soul-stirring melodies, deeply relatable themes, and inimitable style of music that appeals to a wider audience. A band that has dedicated its life to connecting with people on a deeper emotional level and delivering messages directly to the hearts of its listeners couldn’t be happier that you are here with them, supporting them all the way.

After taking a temporary hiatus, Mighty South return with the most enchanting, emotionally resonant, and memorable anthem dubbed “Jessie” whose inspiration stems from one of the band members, Ben Ward’s, depiction of a man truly in love with a flawlessly beautiful woman and is relentlessly committed to wooing her over after realizing she is the perfect woman for him.

The intro is mellow, chill, and inviting as the gently played guitars provide a soft landing for the lead vocalist’s soothing, ear-pleasing, and soulfully sweet vocals. As the song progresses, nearing the infectiously unforgettable chorus, the tempo is upped as each member of the band makes a worthy contribution to the richness and fullness of the sound, providing excellent scenery for the emotion-drenched vocals that underscore the track’s emotional intensity.

As you listen through, it will come as an inevitable realization that “Jessie” is actually not different from what you’d normally hear on the radio. There is an undeniable quality and dexterous execution to it that makes it an absolute radio staple, and the all-round performance speaks highly of the band’s indestructible chemistry and top-notch musicianship.

I love how the tune maintains its powerful instrumentation with the awe-inspiring guitar showmanship highlighting the band’s guitar virtuosity and giving the track an arena-ready vibe. The deep emotions are palpable, and that way, a listener feels immersed, and they can actually find their own personal connection with the song.

With close to 10K Spotify streams in such a short period since its release, “Mighty South” is the gospel truth and quite the comeback hit from a band that prides itself on staying ahead of the curve whilst still maintaining its authenticity.

Check this track out, available on all major platforms, including a well-acted and impeccably directed music video on YouTube that perfectly complements the song, both in apologue and storyline!
