Exclusive Interview: PennyRoyale Breaks Down the Gloriously “Pure Rapture” Album and Delves on Her Musical Journey and Creative Taste

It’s an honor to speak with you today. How did you get into music and for how long have you been in the industry?

Thank you so much for inviting me to speak with you. I started singing in around 2017. I didn’t really realise I could sing. I got into singing because I just started exploring my innate need to be more creative, I’ve always been a highly creative person but I really wanted to explore what I could discover with some really concentrated and disciplined passion.  I have now been in the industry for around 5 years and I really love it.

How would you describe your sound to someone who just listened to your music for the first time?

I would describe my sound as nostalgic pop/rock. I put my heart and my soul into my music and I think it really has a unique thread of me in all that I do.

Please tell us more about your debut album “Pure Rapture” How did this idea first come together and what is the inspiration behind it?

The name for the album actually came first, it was like a really clear creative vision of where I wanted to go.  Pure Rapture is about finding the beauty, and the possibilities. When I teach art I always say to my students ‘There are no mistakes there are only possibilities”. I think the entire creative process is not too dissimilar to real life- its complex, its messy, frustrating, enjoyable and different for all of us.

Wow! Up until this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live?

I am really proud of what all the songs became on my debut album. It was such a fun process.  Each song is different from the next, I kind of can’t define myself by a genre …I guess it’s a very Arty and creative album that reflects who I am. I do love to perform ‘Home (Beautiful Sounds) live as it as this sense of awe and beauty to it, then on the opposite end of the spectrum I really love ‘You Rock My world’ cause it just feels really good, I love the vibe of it.

What would be your dream venue or event to perform at?

Bucket list event would be Glastonbury…dream a little dream with me 😉 And my dream venue would have to be Albert Hall in London. I did have a dream in which my mum was telling me to take my shoes off and “just perform” and we were in Albert Hall so it’s a really fierce desire now…watch this space.

What’s a little-known fact about you that might surprise people?

I make the most delicious, scrambled eggs ever. It’s a secret recipe.

Where can people find you online and your music?

I have a new website which ishttps://pennyroyale.bandzoogle.com/ and I am on social media platforms, all the links are on my website page.

Is there anything else you’d like to say before we wrap things up? Are there any words for your fans?

I always like to use my voice to encourage everyone to explore their creative side. Our mental health is really important and exploring the Arts- music, visual art, drama…all Arts can really help provide us all with an inclusive and diverse way to express ourselves. I truly believe in the Arts to bring equality, diversity, sustainability and love to this world more so now then ever before.
