Portland-based genre-bending collective Scarlett Siren & The Howlin’ Tramps are set to release their new single, “Trouble,” on April 23rd

Fronted by the female vocal powerhouse, songwriter, burlesque performer, and plus-size model Scarlet Siren, this musical collective stretches the boundaries of multiple genres in ways that they only can come up with a style of eclectic music that defies categorization; the result is an appeal that can be matched by few bands of their era. Over time, Scarlet has developed a virtuosic singing style given over to swooping psychedelic rock melodic embellishments over nostalgic and joyful blues and jazz compositions…like I said, genre-defying!

Alongside that wide-eyed creativity of psychedelic swing, Scarlett Siren & The Howlin’ Tramps are notable for influences of the blues, which appeal to listeners who are looking for something new and different. Seizing upon the 21st-century craze reminiscent of the 80s, Scarlett Siren takes her powerful lyrics and turns music into medicine to fuel the body and soul.

Scarlett Siren & The Howlin’ Tramps’ new single, “Trouble,” is a delicious piece of late 70s blues rock and 80s psych rock, and in this performance, Scarlett is just as buoyant as the music itself.

In this tune, Scarlett assumes the role of the savior of women in abusive relationships, with the cinematographic music video accompanying this track fitting in perfectly to the track’s essence and narrative—you will absolutely love the acting here.

Her vocals are beautifully haunting as she goes on to leave an indelible mark with her passionate vocal delivery that leaves nothing to be desired. I love how the track just transcends—at the beginning, it is just pure blues rock, and as the tune progresses, Scarlett Siren & The Howlin’ Tramps unleash a timeless medley of that fiery psych rock that whisks its listener further away to another space.

“Trouble” has all the markings of a viral hit track, which cannot be denied by its listeners. This track will officially be available for streaming on April 23, 2023, along with that eye-catching music video.
