Malaysian, UK-based up-and-coming singer-songwriter Sky Saw returns with his most personal and heartfelt song yet, “On My Own,” now streaming on all major platforms.

Music has the power to touch us in ways we never thought or imagined possible before. It has the power to move and transport us to different realms and dimensions, and above all, it has the power to make us feel understood. Leveraging on this power is budding artist Sky Saw, originally from Malaysia, who moved to Scotland, UK, to pursue medicine, and as someone who has always carried a lifelong passion for music, the calling was too strong to ignore or resist. Now, he balances his roles as both a practicing doctor and musician in the best way he knows how. If he is not in the OR stitching up a patient, you can be sure he’s in the studio, weaving together beats and lyrics in the hope of creating something with a lasting impression. With two successful releases so far that have already earned him a dedicated fanbase, the future is really looking bright for this authentic musician.

“On My Own” is the third release by Sky Saw and one of his most personal and heartfelt yet…well, according to me! Here, he surrenders some of those vulnerable feelings in a manner that is identifiable, giving it that emotional appeal over a stunning blend of acoustic guitar and intimate percussion.

The acoustic guitar serves as the melodic backbone of this enchanting jam. The beautifully tugged strings tug at a listener’s heartstrings, setting such a smooth foundation for Sky’s honeyed, soulfully rich, and warm vocals. He sings with conviction, his words instantly finding a place in the listener’s heart, evoking a soul-stirring response.

The song explores the inevitable intricacies of toxic love with the unforgettable chorus “I’m not sure I’ve really known what’s it’s like to love on my own” encapsulating the thematic essence of the song and the need to heal and embrace self-love before committing to another relationship.

Even with the addition of the bass, drums, and percussion, the song maintains a gentle pace that is not overdone, allowing for Sky Saw’s beautiful voice to thrive as well as the deep lyrics.

“On My Own” is a brilliant addition to Sky Saw’s growing catalog, and it will serve to further elevate him to critical global acclaim.

This song has all the hallmarks of a special masterpiece and deserves its place in your favorite playlist. As a result, there should be no reason why it isn’t already there. I know you…you can do better!
