25 Relatable Songs About Falling Out of Love You Should Hear

It happens to the best of us. We fall in love, and then we fall out of it. But what do you listen to when you’re on that roller coaster ride of emotion? A playlist to accompany each stage of the breakup process could be just what you need right now. Here are twenty-five songs about falling out of love:

  1. Alessia Cara – Out Of Love

It hurts like hell when you are feeling like someone is falling out of love with you when you are still feeling in love with them…the worst is when you saw it coming. But you were too blinded in love that you wouldn’t believe it could be happening.

“Out Of Love” also hits different when you feel like you are the person who’s falling out of the love…the guilt consumes the whole of you and crashes you into sad pieces. Sometimes you will be listening to this song when caught up in either of the two situations, sometimes not- the emotions will always feel strong each time!

  1. Chike – Out of Love

“You are better alone than living with a lie”- these words founded the concept and idea behind this unmistakably moving song by the Nigerian composer and singer Chike.

The track centers on a failing relationship and the artist’s feeble attempts and mending the bridge between himself and his partner but the bridge is already broken.

The video sees Chike going through varying levels of emotions as his partner explains to him over the phone why she no longer loves him- it hurts but it is the plain truth, she has found another person and has fallen out of love with him.

  1. Craig David – Don’t Love You No More (I’m Sorry)

Sometimes the inevitable signs all lead to a falling out of love and the greatest cowards are the ones that aren’t ready to man up and tell their partners that they no longer feel the same way.

Instead of going around in circles and hurting another person’s feelings, it is only fair to tell them the truth- they at least deserve that!

So I guess this time really is goodbye…Craig David’s voice is like the sun on a cold winter day. If you grew up on this kind of music, then your childhood was awesome!

  1. Enrique Iglesias ft. Kelis – Not In Love

Growing up and becoming a teenager means that you will have to face love head-on at some point in your life. But none of us are ever prepared for it and we sometimes think we are deeply in love but are just infatuated. And before you realize it, you are not in love anymore and feelings end up being hurt along the way.

There are signs leading to falling out and you should always be listening- your heart knows better!

Someone, please tell Enrique to make songs about falling out of love like these again. And I think he must be the only man alive who can wear a jumper and a shirt and still look like the sexiest man alive!

  1. Crystal Castles – Not In Love ft. Robert Smith of The Cure

What if you are so afraid of falling out of love when you were not in love even in the first place?

The lines, “we were lovers, now we can’t be friends, fascination ends…” get me every damn time!

I listen to this at least twice every day; it always gets to me. The song touches my soul. The chorus synth is one of my favorite sounds ever. So indescribably magical!

This is so perfect- The Cure and Crystal Castles are two of my top favorite bands.

  1. M.O – Not In Love ft. Kent Jones

This is the confidence you need to walk away from a situation where you don’t feel like you still harbor the same feelings of love as you did before- so you shout at the top of your lungs, “You are not in love anymore…” there is so much perfection condensed in 3 minutes.

Every beat in this song energizes a listener a little more. A song that always seems to make me happy; such an impeccable banger! When it’s on, I can’t stop bopping to it- an endearing stunner of top quality!

  1. 10CC – I’m Not in Love

A perfectly balanced tune that relates to that feeling when you are not feeling in love and just want to take some time to understand yourself better.

The track is hypnotically beautiful. It puts you in a trance. It’s just incredible how they used tape loops of their voices on a mixing board to create those background sounds. I always thought it came from a synthesizer.

On top of that, they barely used any musical equipment at all nothing short of genius!

Picture this, “It’s the summer of 1976, and an 11-year-old boy is waking up in his bed in the middle of the night with his radio on, he has been held hostage by the sound of this song!”

  1. Brookside – Not Into You “dude she’s just not into you”

This song makes you realize that the person you want has no interest in being with you. It’s a good thing, trust me.

Because of how blunt it is, it is also a perfect song for those guys who can’t move on after being rejected. However, it is reassuring, casual, and catchy enough to be great for those guys who haven’t fallen out of love yet. It is about getting used to the idea of being rejected, of hearing it, and making it all seem okay- which it is!

The track is both aesthetically retro and faultlessly beautiful.

  1. Alaina Castillo – I don’t think I love you anymore

Here’s a secret you should know: life is too short to stay in a relationship you’re unhappy in.

You’ll be fine on your own. You’ve got this!

It’s funny how people sleep differently; some people sleep on their sides, some people sleep on their backs, and other people be sleeping on Alaina Castillo!

She sings like Billie Eilish, looks like Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa, and hits high notes like Madison Beer, but she is Alaina Castillo!

  1. Evie May Stellars – I don’t love you anymore (Multifandom)

This touching edit from some of the series-given melodies will move you to tears.

It’s worse when you fall in love with each other, then they fall out of love…and you don’t know where you went wrong!

We all want love but don’t want to get hurt. Ironic isn’t it!

Some of our biggest fear is loving someone who would never love us back.

Sometimes you just love someone so much to the point you let them go because you want them to be happy even if it’s not with you.

  1. Annie Lennox – No More “I Love You’s”

Falling in love is the best feeling you could ever feel.

Even if you love that person, you should set them free if they no longer love you. We all know it hurts but you have to.

Someday you can find someone better.

Annie Lennox was way ahead of her time- what an incredibly beautiful woman with a voice of gold. She does serve Scorpio vibes with just the right amount of sweetness!

  1. My Chemical Romance – I Don’t Love You

The sadness of love culminates at the point where the person you shared intimacy and burning passion born of love with no longer feel the same way and it is at that point where you have to say goodbye.

It’s summer 2022 and this song still brings me to life and I still love and adore My Chemical Romance like I did yesterday.

The guitar solo in this masterpiece makes me emotional; it combines love, despair, and liberation.

  1. Hollyn – I wasn’t enough for you (acoustic)

When someone falls out of love, they no longer regard you as suitable for them, and it is at this moment that you should find the guts to call it quits because you deserve more.

You just have to know and believe that you are better off without that person.

You are still beautiful and the right one will come. You just need to have faith and stay true to yourself.

This album was inspired by Hollyn overcoming someone breaking up with her- the emotions in her voice are so raw, the lyrics are so powerful…when you love someone with everything you have and they turn their back on you, it hurts!

  1. Fifth Harmony – Don’t Say You Love Me

“So don’t say you miss me when you don’t call. And don’t say you’re hurting without the scars. Don’t promise me tonight without tomorrow too. Don’t say you love me unless you do…”

Such a powerful masterpiece and, sadly, was their last piece as a group.

I still hold that Little Mix and Fifth Harmony will always be the Girl-group of this generation!

  1. Tyler the Creator – I don’t Love you anymore

Honesty sits at the threshold of character and it is only right that when you feel like you have fallen out of love with your partner, you make it known to them before it is too late.

It’s what we call in business as damage control and helps save an enterprise from suffering any more losses than it already has! This song just goes hard without needing an explanation why and it sounds like those of GORILLAZ; spectacularly awesome!

  1. Tank – I Can’t Make You Love Me

There is nothing you can do to make a person who has fallen out of love with you, feel the same way again- it’s pointless in wanting someone who doesn’t want you to want you.

To the person who loves hard, this song will hit hard but also make you realize how good of a person you are.

It’s always very hard to let go. Lord knows- but sometimes it is inevitable.

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” hits different when you feel like this with someone and they don’t feel the same way you do!

  1. The Corrs – Don’t Say You Love Me

It has been said that the greatest coward is the man who awakens a woman’s love without the true intentions of loving her.

If you feel like you are gonna fall out of love at some point, don’t let the other person’s feelings for you grow so strongly and then end up disappointing them.

People’s feelings are not to be toyed with!

‘I’ve seen this place a thousand times.” And I’ve come back to The Corrs a thousand times.

Such rare artists who never go out of style and this is one of their prettiest songs about falling out of love ever; Andrea’s delivery is second to none- the ladies’ harmony makes your heart melt.

Spectacular artistry!

  1. Ne-Yo – Don’t Love Me

Ne-You has me in my feelings as this track hits home on so many levels.

When loving someone is one-sided and you force togetherness, you always seem to get hurt in the long run.

You should never love someone more than you love yourself and if you fall out of love with someone, the best thing you can do is set them free and not hurt them any further than you already have.

Ne-Yo always leaves his soul on the table with his music. His music always makes you feel even if it isn’t your situation- that’s real talent right there!

  1. Jessie Ware – Say You Love Me

This is one of those songs about falling out of love that will never fade; it’s 2022 and the track is still gold.

The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much and forgetting that you are special too.

The words to this song are just pure poetry and will always remain relevant from one generation to the next.

Just close your eyes and feel the passion in her voice!

You will be like: “ah! She’s the girl that sings me to sleep!”

  1. Gabrielle Aplin – Please Don’t Say You Love Me

This song is pure and honest and represents girls with a fear of commitment so perfectly- you will appreciate how the tune genuinely represents people who might love someone but are just terrified of saying it loud.

And it is funny how this is one of those songs about falling out of love you forget about but suddenly remember very late spring/early autumn!

So, sometimes people haven’t necessarily fallen out of love with you, there are not just ready yet to tell you what to hear- you dig that?

30 Sad Songs About Broken Relationships With Parents

  1. Enrique Iglesias – Takin’ Back My Love feat. Ciara

When someone you used to love and care for, falls out of love with you; don’t worry, it is not the end for you.

Simply take back your love and soon enough you will find someone worthy of that love.

We don’t look for old songs about falling out of love, we look for the memories they carry once a wise man said, “Finding old music you used to love is like getting back in touch with an old friend”.

Listening to this nostalgic tune feels that way!

  1. Post Malone – Goodbyes ft. Young Thug

Sometimes we fall out of love because we didn’t know what we wanted when getting into it.

And when you feel lost yourself, it’s really hard to help the other person find themselves!

There’s no way I could save you cause I need to be saved too…” this line has too many feels!

Never forget that no matter what mood you’re in, Post Malone always has a song for you.

  1. James Bay – Let It Go

No matter how old it is, this song hits hard every time and hits harder when you’ve finally let go of something that you don’t need.

Falling out of love will get you from walking home and talking loads together to sleeping at the edge in silence.

So sometimes it is only better if we “Let It Go” and have our lives back.

So much better than the delusions and pretenses!

  1. Machine Gun Kelly ft. Halsey – Forget me too

If someone has fallen out of love with you and they want you to forget them, then tell them to forget about you too (It works both ways, right!).

However, it is sometimes easier said than done, especially if you are deeply in love with them.

This is the absolute perfect duet we’ve needed from these two gifted artists. I can’t believe how 2000’s punk rock this feels like; gives me literal chills in my bones.

This whole album takes me back to the Mcr-Greenday- Simple Plan teenage days- so staggeringly phenomenal!

And I have to admit that Halsey’s voice is so perfect for this style of music!

  1. Billie Eilish – Lost Cause

Falling out of love has to be the most confusing thing, even if it was after they broke you and tore you apart.

You always still feel like they are the one for you. Until waking up and they are not the first thought that comes to your mind.

“Lost Cause” feels like a “Happier than ever’s “version of “Bad Guy!”

The next time you feel like you are falling out of love with someone or vice-versa, you know the songs about falling out of love to turn to so they resonate with your emotions appropriately!
