Souleye’s “Disguised As Tomorrow” is quite simply an impeccable distillation of progressive and visionary artistry!

The past year has been graced with some amazing albums like Nas’ “KID III,” Drake x 21 Savage’s “Her Loss,” Lil Baby’s “It’s Only Me,” Lil Yachty’s transformational “Let’s Start Here,” and now Souleye’s “Disguised As Tomorrow.” It certainly fits the bill and can be mentioned in the same breath as the others. In fact, I don’t think I’d be out of order by giving it an “Album of the Year” shout-out!

Disguised As Tomorrow” is a 13-track masterpiece that delivers a forward-thinking, visionary, and dynamic listening experience. It’s fronted by the unanimously acclaimed “Emergency,” featuring Souleye’s Grammy Award-winning wife Alanis Morissette, and offers a sound that spans the past, present, and future.

There is a certain ease and undisguised complexity that comes with Souleye’s musicality and delivery that is flanked by his witty entendres and his way around words as much as his own vocal diversity, which pins him on a level absolutely of his own…I am actually tempted to know if it actually feels lonely at the top!

The cosmic-inspired cover art is such a stunning innovation! Kudos to visual artist Lindsay Kokoska for inspiring such a futuristic meta-like body of art! There are memorable performances from guest artists throughout this collection, such as Big Samir and Main Flow in the track “Letter To The Old Me” the phenomenally gifted vocalist and activist Lila Rose on “The Unheard” and the passionate South African rocker Esjay Jones in the quality showpiece, “Protected”.

“Disguised As Tomorrow” is much like a guiding star through the path of darkness, with every step sort of assurance of making it to the destination in one piece. There is quite some lyrical education which defies just common knowledge and begs for investigation as to whether Souleye is indeed human as he claims to be…this is simply work of superhuman quality and should be treated with the magnitude it deserves!

And because you deserve some honesty in your life; “Disguised As Tomorrow” is the real deal—stop everything you think you are doing and just experience music so great, it makes you question whatever you have been torturing your poor eardrums with!

I like it here…hip hop music has never sounded so alive!
