California-Based Songwriter Zachary Campos Releases “Travelling,” the Lead Single from His Album “The Champion”

From San Jose, California, Zachary Campos’ music is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional folk songwriting while still maintaining a sense of familiarity. His inspirations are limitless, mostly stemming from his own life, his family, and his friends, as he vividly paints a colorful tapestry of what it is like to live and enjoy life with those that matter. His latest string of releases has been inspired by his newborn daughter, Penelope—an inestimably beautiful and joyous addition he’ll never forget. He recalls how she was so small that he could cup her head in the palm of his hand, her ears sticking out a little, with light shining through them and her delicate skin. You can tell he’s happier than he has ever been!

Zachary has now released the lead single, “Travelling,” from his highly anticipated album “The Champion.” This album is actually his last project of the year, after which he intends to take a much-needed break to spend some quality time with his family.

“Travelling” was written by Zachary as a self-reflective story about his journey to the studio and recording his music. Its introspective and autobiographical lyrics capture the moment of him writing the song in the presence of his daughter and partner as they headed down to the studio to meet his friends and producers, Josh Zuckermann and Tim J. Abbot.

If you know Zachary well enough, then you know he likes to keep it laconic and to the point, and he does so here under the sonic limelight of a purposefully strung guitar that underscores the song’s folk structure. This provides a satisfactory landing for his bold and deep vocals that conjure up poetry in execution.

This song is an ode to family and friends—Zachary’s happiest place to be with the people he loves—and, as such, serves as a deeply relatable centerpiece that anyone who values family and friendship can confide in.

“Travelling” officially debuted on October 4, 2024. Be sure to give it a listen to experience its attractive and resonating impact.
