Award-winning Venezuelan-American artist Edward Mena evokes a wave of uncompromising authenticity with his beautiful rendition of “Unchained Melody”

An outstanding musician and vocalist by any measure, Edward Mena is an award-winning Venezuelan-American artist and performer whose career started in 2009 after reaching first place in a local music competition known as the “Premio Estrella Music Award” in Miami. His career has been on an upward trajectory ever since, which has seen him perform in countless venues all over the world, grab headlines, and win accolades while at it.

Edward Mena is gearing up for the release of his new album in English, which is a tribute to iconic American classics, and the rendition of The Righteous Brothers “Unchained Melody” is the first single off of the album.

Well, I have listened to so many covers of this legendary track, but none quite feel like Edward’s – there is just a special way he owns it and delivers it uniquely to have you hooked from start to finish.

His voice holds such effortless power with such an impressive range, and he surely knows how to get the most out of it making this such an irresistible and beautifully haunting piece of music that leaves you wanting more.

The way he hits all the right notes with his expressive voice that has such soul, is what makes this rendition so beautiful. This is one of those covers that respectfully honors the original while using its creative foundation as a springboard to reach new and exciting musical ground.

Edward has opted for a gloriously cinematic feeling orchestral piece that feels grand in scope and wonderfully expressive in its execution!

He has such a great voice, and the excellent arrangement provides solid support for his rich vocals to thrive.

Many have been quick to compare Edward with Elvis even though they have maintained that he definitely has a sound and strength of his own that make him stand out by himself.

This track was produced the multi-GRAMMY nominee, Hildemaro Álvarez, and mastered by acclaimed engineer, Nick Burchall, who has worked on albums for Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Elton John and so many other celebrities.
