UK-based Nigerian Gospel artist Jaymz Manuel collaboration with South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir “You Are Alive” is a soul-healer that uplifts and exalts Christ

A collaboration we needed exactly when we needed it, “You Are Alive” by UK-based Nigerian-born gospel artist Jaymz Manuel featuring multi-award-winning music group Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa is a soul healer that touches the depths of the hearts in indescribably powerful and spiritual ways. Their voices blend with such seamless harmony, the message beneath their words even more fulfilling.

And when you think about it, they really brought out the best in each other. Jaymz makes his presence felt, his delivery like a powerful invocation that exalts Christ and speaks highly of His all-loving, all-knowing, and everlasting nature.

This track speaks of the mighty power of God, the one who parted the sea and with whom everything is possible. It does not matter the storm or darkness you’ve been engulfed in—He’s the most powerful and will meet you right there in the wilderness and deliver you from it.

The rich vocal harmonies as Soweto Gospel Choir perform from their hearts and souls—the lushness of their voices blending with an eternal spirituality touch a listener deeply and make them emotional, bringing them close to tears.

Released at the height of the global COVID pandemic, “You Are Alive” was meant to be an inspirational, empowering, uplifting, and healing song for people grappling with what seemed insurmountable challenges—a timely reminder that Christ of Galilee is and has always been alive and will never forsake them.

And while the track has almost everything you’d want in a gospel track, perhaps it’s not wrong to note that it could have been more, with an addition of more instrumental variation; perhaps some orchestral elements would elevate it further and make it feel like you are actually watching a live performance, right?

“You Are Alive” is also a song of unity, hope, love, and restoration—the collaboration is symbolic of the power of unity and the strength of love for each other. No matter who you are, where we are, where we are from, how we look, or even the diversity of our cultures, under Christ, we are all His children, and He sees us equally. I mean, what a message! And what a powerful and spiritual performance!

Statement to its massive global appeal, “You Are Alive” has actually amassed over half a million streams across major digital platforms. This truly is the embodiment of worship, praise, and what can be achieved when incredibly gifted musicians come together, each recognizing what the other is worth and motivated by a higher purpose than them.

A beautifully crafted and spiritually uplifting song with rich harmonies and powerful lyrics, I give this jam a rating of 8.5/10.

Check it below and let it uplift your spirits, heal your soul, and bring you closer to Christ.
