Italian-based international contemporary Irish Folk band Willos’ set to release their new single, “Ghost Ship” on February 24, 2023.

Traditional folk and songwriting have become the very essence of Willos’; an international contemporary 6-piece band fronted by Irish Fiddler Stephanie Martin from Belfast, together with singer Fiona King from Vancouver, Canada, and 4 other Italian musicians. This band mingles texture and layers to design music that draws their audiences into an unforgettable experience. Their artistic maturity and natural charisma have won them massive support from a nationwide audience and lots of interest from the music industry. With nearly 600 gigs in Ireland, France, and Switzerland under their belt, this band’s journey to success has already been full of notable achievements and impressive milestones, but the Willos’ are determined to work even harder as they continue walking confidently towards their next goals.

From their impressive bodies of work, you can tell that the band is made up of seasoned, diversely talented musicians who then blend their individual and distinct styles to craft a sound that is truly rare, and that is exactly the case in their new masterpiece titled, “Ghost Ship” which will be officially available on February 24, 2023.

I had the pleasure of listening to this meticulously crafted traditional folk song, and all I can say is that it was definitely worth the wait. The band really dives deeper into groundbreaking and innovative sonic aesthetics to raise the bar in terms of versatility and focus!

Right from the intro, the pulsing guitar riffs create a profound ambiance that sets the stage for the lead female vocalist’s incredibly rich vocals to flourish. With particular attention to detail, the other instruments are skillfully let in, fashioning an oasis of flutes that blend seamlessly with the charming guitars, the keyboards, and later with what feels like the saxophone, adding such layers and sonic elegance to this magical track.

“Ghost Ship” is the sort of music that is less heard and more experienced—fully realized and heartwarmingly delivered to make you forget about your worries and provide you with an escape, even if just for those few minutes!

With releases like this, it is clear that Willos’ are continuing to reinvent and reshape themselves in this ever-shifting industry whilst also staying on the edge of new sounds and genres and still never losing the essence of their sound; – rare and transformative!

Mark 24th on your calendars because this is not one to miss. To stay updated on all things Willos’ and have access to their new music and projects, be sure to follow them on their attached social media handles.
