XIMERMJ Finds Freedom in the Hypnotic Sound of “Virulence”

The dictionary defines virulence as the harm a disease can cause. New York-based DJ and producer XIMERMJ found a different meaning for his new instrumental, “Virulence.” He created the track as a way to break free from perfectionism and embrace pure artistic freedom. The result is an unforgettable wave of sound, with synth leads that seem to jump right out at you.

The track is short, running just two minutes and twenty-one seconds. It packs a hypnotic, cinematic journey into that time, avoiding easy answers and finding its home in the unknown.

For XIMERMJ, the song was a personal statement about letting go of self-doubt. He describes the feeling as a kind of “levitating sound,” with melodies that float in the air. He builds this atmosphere with intentionally delayed drops that stretch all the way to the end. Shimmering synths and unpredictable textures keep you in a constant state of anticipation.

This track was all about finally hitting ‘publish’ without second-guessing himself. “Virulence” represents a release, both of the song and of his own creative hang-ups. It’s experimental and alive. The music isn’t trying to be neat; it simply exists.

Cinematic layers and warped effects weave through the track. Synthetic crescendos rise but never quite resolve, playing with your expectations in an electric way. The whole experience is both engaging and elusive. The track isn’t designed for mainstream radio. It’s made for feeling something, for drifting, for letting a wave of sound carry you away.

XIMERMJ has always been an artist who tests the limits of traditional structure, fusing electro, ambient, and glitch with cinematic sounds. Now at 29, he feels he’s entering a more authentic stage in his career, one where he can defy formulas and celebrate sound as a raw form of expression.

“Virulence” is available now on all major streaming platforms. If you’re a curious listener, a sonic explorer, or just someone ready to let go, this track offers a space to float, feel, and be free.
