If I told you that I’d met artists even half capable of delivering the kind of craft ADopted Enemy does, then I’d blatantly be lying, and since I pride myself on always being truthful, I am here to say that he is one of the few artists doing something completely different from everyone else, yet so captivating and divine in its own mysterious ways. Walking the margin between fiction and reality, his genre-blurring and fusion-driven sound is a departure from the obvious and expected—drenched in the spirit of rap and trap and accentuated by the rebellious attitude of alternative rock and experimental soundscapes for a sound that is as raw and chaotic as it is purposeful and light-hearted. Even with those serious, socially driven topics, AD doesn’t take himself too seriously, finding room for humor whilst still delivering the message home in the most unique way possible.
Take, for example, the single “Oh6 Boosie” off of AD’s “Yellow Orange Flame” album which consists of 11 tracks. This tune reverberates on multiple fronts, but my favorite thing about it has to be that haunting, unconventional beat that accompanies AD’s equally hybrid performance.
“Oh6 Boosie” is alternative rap at its finest, and AD manages to get a listener’s attention through his intoxicating delivery, his alluring vocals slinking with clarity and ghostly power over this memorable production for one infectious listening experience that takes residence in a listener’s brain for the rest of the day.
Like most of his projects, there is something mysteriously strange and yet abnormally enchanting about this jam. The more you listen to it, the more it feels surreal, having this strong effect with each successive listening pattern.
This is remarkable artistry to be able to make something unnaturally basic into something as extraordinarily captivating as this track below.
“Oh6 Boosie” definitely leaves a lasting impression on anyone who’s lucky enough to be on the receiving end—it is the kind that has its way around a listener and leaves them excited about how unconventionally good it actually is.
The thing about ADopted Enemy’s music is it is not the kind you stumble upon every other day, but with his growing influence and catalog, he hopes to change that and introduce music fans to something unusually remarkable and with universal appeal.
