Shedrick S.H.E.D. Barnett is a native from the Athens GA area who first learned how to write poetry before he could speak! He has been in love with poetry since his childhood and only began reciting in his early thirties. He has a way with words that is unrivaled and his latest album, “For the Lover in You” stretches the boundaries of imaginative creativity. It is powerful self-expression that contains elements of blues music, folk music and sometimes jazz to enhance the rhythmic presentation. The way he delivers the song, “Are You Ready for Love” will lift a listener’s soul as its exquisite delivery and powerful message will give you something to meditate about, “So you think you are ready for love…you sure?…you ready for this marathon…are you ready to accept change?…” this is a personal truth unfolded in an intense, emotional delivery that will stay with you long after it is over as you ponder over its unfiltered message. The dedication to his mother in the piece, “I Remember” is an emotional poetic lyricism that will move you to bits as his commanding and the passionate voice goes on and on about the fond memories of his beloved mother who is now no more, “I Remember nights falling asleep on the sofa and waking up covered up…no love…I mean no love can go further than a mothers love…” this selfless dedication epitomizes the perfect tribute to a loved one.
