Sophia Dias made it to the headlines several times last year; everything she brought to her fans was very well received, from her autobiography to the release of her music album. Ms Dias launched her autobiography ‘Bullet-Proof,’ a compelling story of her coming out stronger against all the odds; she resonated through her words the struggle many women face in their houses, hoping against hope every day that the sun will rise to change their fate, she shared her journey of making her way up the ladder against the hardships she faced setting a precedent for other women to follow. ‘Never too late towards a better life, cherish every day, make a difference in anyone’s life in any way possible, she was quoted saying in her interviews when asked about what motivated her to come out of the most challenging phase in her life.
A multi-talented musician, fashion designer, author, philanthropist, and an aspiring chef, Ms. Dias believes in adding several layers to her life, for her sky’s not the limit; it is the new opening to rise above and beyond to reach the limitless, she is a woman of intellect, evident through her persona in the interviews, she has been referred to as ‘radiating positivity, hope, love, care and optimism everywhere she goes,’ by her co- workers. The mother to two cats and a Bernese mountain dog named Mr. Santos, Ms.Dias advocates for animal adoption from PAWS & Anti-Cruelty Society for the protection of animal rights; she adopted her two cats from there and hopes to promote the adoption of pet animals from adoption centers which fully comply with no harm to animals policy. Ms.Dias lives in Chicago, Illinois, with her cute little family, including which she chose for herself.
To end a fantastic year for her career on a high note, she released another song, ‘Unplugged’, from her album, which shares the same as her autobiography, on December 9, 2022. Truly unplugged for the listeners, the song takes you on a journey of exploring yourself from within, identifying your full potential and working hard for your dreams; the mix of Reggae music and inspiration driven from Jamaican culture, the song is a breathing of fresh air for the listeners who had been eagerly waiting for something outside the usual trendy music to listen. A perfect listen for late-night drives or a song to vibe to while having a rush of emotions, the ideal dopamine for the listeners, Unplugged, comes from Ms Dias’s bottom of her heart to her fans. The song trended at the top in North America, India, Jamaica and Japan.
Comprising seven songs, the album Bullet-Proof was recorded at the famed Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica; other songs include ‘Bullet-Proof, Ghetto Arms, Unfuckwittable, Sara Room 3010, Stronger Than Before and Why.’ Ms Dias shared her experience as a musician:’ My music is based on real life events, with real people, hardship and challenges. It is also about survival and having resilience to pull through it all.’ Indeed, we are also fans!
