Based out of Romania, Thy Veils is a cosmic exploration musical project that navigates the expansive realms of avant-garde and experimental music, delving into uncharted territories. Venturing as far as galactic themes and straddling both planetary and cosmic realms, they create an experience akin to a NASA journey, but through music. Here, a collection of synths, bass lines, intricate percussion, organic elements, and striking ambient sounds are woven together, backed by dreamy and immersive vocals, to take you to worlds beyond…where music reigns and nothing else matters but that exact feeling and moment—everything else is a blur!
I was actually fascinated when I got word that Thy Veils had a new release out because it’s been some time since I last heard from them. And it so happens that their new release, “Here We Are Sidereal,” is part of their 90-minute Galactic Tick Day Live Performance at the Galactic Tick Festival.
With this performance, they absolutely transport the listener to another realm. I want to highlight how everything works in perfect harmony to achieve what the track and visually stunning live performances are intended to do.
While I am no virtuoso when it comes to planetary or scientific things, I recognize good music and first-class execution when I experience them, and this is one right here! The mesmerizing visuals and dancing were perfectly in sync with the music. The dancers perfectly capture the essence and narrative and showcase such depth of emotion with their powerful and audacious moves.
The blend of imagery exemplifies videography at its finest. There is a harmonious blend among the dancers, instrumentalists, and singers, and all have been packaged nicely in what is such a great gift to receive for anyone watching this live performance.
The music itself is great. The instrumentation is well chosen, and the dexterous playing by everyone involved is nothing short of immaculate. I love the intricate percussion, the synth and bass lines, the electric percussion, the gentle drum work, and the immensely expressive vocals that slink through with such lucidity and warmth.
This is a first-class live performance by any measure of the word. I’d like for you to experience what those people in the audience experienced that day because it is inexpressibly powerful and bound to leave a mark.
